The great thing about blogging is that you can do it anywhere. You can write posts on the beach, take pictures up a mountain and capture the memories of everywhere you go. It’s a great way to share your holiday stories, photos and fun with family and friends back at home.
Here are 5 things to remember if you’re thinking about blogging your holiday:
- Take a notebook
Keep a small notebook and pen in your pocket so you can make notes about anything you see that you might want to blog about later. You could even draw pictures and scan them in to your blog when you get home.
- Take plenty of pictures
Take pictures of the places you go and anything fun that catches your eye. If you are taking pictures in a public place then legally you can include anyone else who happens to be there. But it’s probably better to only show people who’ve given you their permission to be photographed. Just because you can take pictures of anybody in public doesn’t mean you should – some people are very protective of their privacy, for all sorts of reasons.
- Watch out for wifi
Check with your parents if the place you’ll be staying in has wifi, so you can think about if you want to write and publish posts when you’re away. What some people do is to start their posts in draft then finish them off when they get home.
- Don’t forget your chargers
It’s so annoying when you see something that would make a great picture and your phone or camera is out of charge. Make sure the chargers for any devices you bring on holiday are securely packed.
- And remember, it’s OK to have a holiday from blogging too
Of course you don’t have to bring any devices, or do any blogging when you’re on holiday. That’s the beauty of it – you set your own schedule. So if you feel like you need a holiday from blogging, take one. Your blog will still be there for you when you get back.
