52 ideas for blog posts by kids

Even adult bloggers run out of ideas sometimes. So if you’re a kid blogger, with less life experience to draw upon, will your well of ideas run dry?

So if you get stuck, here are some ideas. Even if you only post once a week, it’ll take you a year to get through this lot.

  1. Review the last great book you read
  2. Review the last terrible book you read
  3. Review the last movie you saw
  4. What do you want to do when you grow up?
  5. What really ticks you off?
  6. If you could change 3 things about the world, what would they be?
  7. Write a short story
  8. Post a picture you took
  9. Draw something and scan it in (they great thing about blog posts is that they don’t always need words, which is handy when you don’t feel like writing).
  10. What was your favourite toy when you were younger?
  11. What’s your favourite toy now?
  12. Write about the music you like
  13. If you won the lottery, what would you do next?
  14. What has been the biggest challenge you’ve faced?
  15. Who do you want to say sorry to?
  16. Dear Alien, let me tell you about the earth…
  17. What’s your favourite TV show?
  18. Write up a recipe – you could even cook it and take pictures for the blog post too.
  19. Make something crafty and write a post explaining what you did
  20. What makes you happy?
  21. What makes you sad?
  22. What are your top 3 video games?
  23. What do grown ups need to know about kids like you?
  24. Make a video
  25. Write about why you like blogging
  26. Tell a joke
  27. What’s your favourite food?
  28. Beauty is….
  29. What’s your best piece of advice for kids who are sad?
  30. What sort of animals are the best?
  31. Interview your parents. Make sure they answer every question truthfully!
  32. Interview your grandparents. They might have some dirt on your parents!
  33. If you could invent any gadget, what would it be?
  34. What would happen on your best ever weekend?
  35. If you could go back in time to any point in history, where would you go?
  36. What’s your opinion on the big news story of this week?
  37. Which sports are the best?
  38. What sort of chores do you have to do? Should children do more chores around the house? (ooo, controversial)
  39. What’s the best way to deal with an annoying brother or sister? (no violence please!)
  40. What charity do you support and why?
  41. What’s your best money saving tip?
  42. What’s your style? What kind of clothes do you like to wear?
  43. What do you think is the best website right now? Write a review.
  44. What do you think is the smartest way to deal with mean people?
  45. Your most embarrassing moment (if you’re feeling brave)
  46. A true confession (this works best if your parents don’t read your blog)
  47. If you could interview the Prime Minister or the President, what would you ask?
  48. What 3 things are you going to try harder at for the next month?
  49. What was your best ever day out?
  50. What’s your top tip for somebody just starting to blog?
  51. What’s your earliest memory?
  52. Get a friend to guest blog. Heck, you don’t have to write it all yourself.
