We’ve been getting lots of emails from people who are keen to start their first kid blog.
Or, more accurately, we get emails from their parents who don’t really know much about blogging and aren’t sure where to start.
So here are some common questions answered for those of you who are just starting out in the world of children’s blogging:
Q: Can I get my blog hosted on KidsBlogClub?
A: No, we do not host any blogs directly on this site. The best place to start is either Blogger or WordPress – you’ll find more info on those two here.
Q: Where can I get advice on how to help my child start blogging?
A: We have two sections that will help you with that – Starting a Blog and Blogging Tips – so it’s a good idea to take some time to read through the posts there, as they will answer most if not all of your questions straight away.
Q: Can any age of child start blogging?
A: Yes they can. However, both WordPress and Google (which owns Blogger) do not allow under 13s to hold accounts. If your child is under 13 then normally the parent opens the account and the child creates a blog under supervision. If your child gets into blogging, you as the parent will probably be heavily involved too. If you don’t know much about tech stuff or blogging, this isn’t a problem as you can then learn together.
Q: Where do I find other children who blog to connect with?
A: Take a look at our Kid Blog Stars of the Week section to find lots of great young bloggers from all around the world.
Q: I can’t get the KBC badge to work!
A: That happens a lot. Try pasting the code on to Notepad then copying it again to see if it works.

We are vloggers which has been really fun but we’re considering blogging. My 9 year old son is asking. We are less afraid now and vlogging has really given us opportunities for new fun stuff! We are constantly focused on new challenges and achievements! Just start doing it and you’ll get more comfortable!
I would tell a new blogger that they shouldn’t give up, no matter what and have fun but be alert for cyber bullies.

My advice would be to blog about something that you already spend quite a bit of time doing instead of trying to blog about the things other people are interested in! My blog (www.mytrumpetandme.wordpress.com) is all about my trumpet because that’s something I play every day.
Good advice i should recommend you to not talk about ages since kids like us in year 5 are going to do some so we are about 10 and will not use your advice on being under 13 so will you just please write about something different. i would talk about your day and what you usually do in your time and if you get bored ever. i might seem to be a pessimist but seriously im not im just annoyed about your blog and telling people how old you should be. just re try it because you shoudnt be 13 doing blogs !!!
remember what i said it is definitely good advice. i should start one even though im not 13 and you are dumb to think that we should be 13 to write a flipping blog! so you should take my advice very very very and very seriously so i would be better than you. i could keep going on for ever and never stop this annoying comment like im doing right now. this miught not make sense to you so just stop and re do everything that you ahve done you time waster i could do a better blog than this talking about a game even. so i again suggest that you delete everything and i have realised that i am optimoistic and not a pessimist! so stop doing these and you are dumb
