Blogging our way through life!
Exclusive interview with Britain’s youngest blogger

What do children whose parents blog go on to do? Start a blog of their own of course.

Meet Betsy Lou – she’s five (almost six) and we think she could be Britain’s youngest blogger.

Following in the footsteps of her blogger parents, Betsy Lou writes lovely poems and tales of what she’s been up to at The Adventures of BetsyLou.

Why did you decide to start a blog? Were you influenced by your mum or dad’s blog?

Because I like writing and I wanted somewhere to write my poems and stories down. I see my Mummy and Daddy blogging and read what they write and I wanted to do the same.

What sort of things do you write about on your blog?

I write about my day and the things I do. I will also write poems and stories and upload photos of the things I see that make me happy.

What do you think is the best thing about blogging?

Writing down my own ideas, sharing them with other people, and seeing them on the screen. I have also really enjoyed reading some of the other kids club blogs.

Is it hard to do blogging when you’ve been busy at school all day? Does it ever feel like extra homework?

I have been blogging mainly at the weekend as I am quite busy in the week. Blogging doesn’t feel like extra homework because it is fun. Sometimes I take ideas from my “big talk” homework for my poems so it does not feel like extra work.

What do you like to do when you’re not blogging?

I like to go to ballet and jazz, I also like swimming, painting, playing piano and singing.

You mentioned on your blog that you’re a bookworm – what are your top 3 favourite books?

Rainbow Magic Fairies series (I can’t pick one!)

Alice In Wonderland

What would you like to do when you grow up? Would you like to be a writer or something else?

I would like to write stories for magazines or websites. I would also like to be a painter, or dance on Strictly Come Dancing!
