International story writing contest for kids
Categories: Kid Blog News

Here’s news of a new writing competition for kids that anyone can enter, no matter where in the world you live.

Tell It My Way would like to invite you to enter their exclusive contest honoring Earth Day –  Fairytales from the Forest: Retell the Classics

Each week until May 31, 2014, writers are invited to retell any of four classic children’s stories that take place in the woods.

Storytellers may submit their own versions of Little Red Riding Hood, Robin Hood, Hansel and Gretel, or Goldilocks and the Three Bears.

The contest ends on May 31st. Readers determine scores by voting “up” or “down.” The authors of the retelling of the fairy tale with the highest score will receive a $50.00 Amazon gift card and will also receive recognition on Tell it my Way.

So get inspired by classic stories and create your own version. Or if you don’t want to enter, read and vote on some of the stories already entered. It’s fascinating to see what a creative mind can do with the same basic story.

PS For UK-based kid bloggers, don’t forget that entries close for Britain’s Best Kid Blogger on 31st May so get writing your post. There’s a prize for every entry and you might even win a holiday for your family! Click on the link for all the details.
