New ‘green’ tech camp opens for UK kids and teens
Categories: For kids, Kid Blog News

A new tech camp is opening for UK kids to help them build their skills in the school holidays.

The leading holiday tech camp provider for children and teens in the UK – Fire Tech Camp – has teamed up with Bristol 2015 Ltd to offer a series of new camps for kids in Bristol during the Easter break. Fifty per cent of the places will be fully funded by Bristol 2015 Ltd providing 12 local kids with a complimentary place. These camps are usually pretty pricey so this is a great opportunity for those lucky enough to grab a space.

The new camp will show kids and teens how to code, build computer games and program robots working around ‘green themes’ including renewable energy and green cities.

How much fun does this look?

The new Greentech Camp runs from 7 -10 April 2015 at Bristol Grammar School. Taught by an army of experienced coders, programmers and university students, the course ensures that young people not only leave having learnt new tech skills but gain experience in a fun, exciting environment. Plans are afoot to offer the Greentech Camps in London, Manchester and Brighton in 2016.

The Video Game Design camp will see kids from the age of nine create original games with a focus on themes such as eco-friendly driving or saving energy

Older students, aged 14 and up, can either use Python – the coding language most widely taught in senior schools and universities – to tackle topical issues, or get stuck into electronics with an Arduino microcomputer. Campers on this stream will wire up temperature, light and heat sensors and programme robots to interact with the physical environment

How to take part

Greentech Camp runs from Tuesday 7 April to Friday 10 April 2015 at Bristol Grammar School. The camp costs £350 per student and participants can sign up for either Video Game Design, Python Programming or Physical Computing with Arduino. Advanced booking is required. The 12 scholarship places funded by Bristol 2015 are available via contacting directly for further details or complete an application on the Terms and conditions apply.

I have been surfing online more thn 3 hours these days, yet I by noo means found any attention-grabbing article
like yours. It’s pretty price sufficient for me. In my opinion, if all website owners and bloggers made
good content material as you probably did, the net will probably be much more useful than ever before.
