New linky launched for kid bloggers #KidsBlogs
Categories: Kid Blog News

A new monthly blog linky has launched to help kid bloggers make connections and find new readers.

It’s hosted by the UK’s largest blogging network, Tots100, with the help of ten-year-old Lexie from What Lexie Loves.

You can find out more and add your best post of the last month to the linky here

What is a linky?

If you haven’t taken part in one before, a linky is a chance to add your blog link into one central place and make connections with other bloggers. They’re also sometimes known as blog hops, link ups or linky parties. Some will have specific themes, where everybody blogs about the same topic as decided by the host.

The idea is not to simply add in the link to your blog and leave it there. Instead you’ll get much more out of the linky if you click on as many of the other links as you can, read the posts and leave a comment.

As always, talk to your parents beforehand so that they’re happy that you’re spreading the word about your blog in this way.

Most linkies will have their own hashtag which you can add at the end of your comment to show that that’s how you found the post. And if someone comments on your blog using the linky hashtag, then it’s polite to return the favour by visiting their blog and also leaving a comment. If a really popular linky has dozens of links, you don’t have to visit them all, but do aim to visit at least three.

And maybe if you enjoy this one, you might like to host a regular linky on your own site? What do you think, do you love linkies?
