This is a post we published a while ago at Eljae which lots of people seemed to like so we hope you will like it too.
If you are unfortunate enough to be surrounded by people who do not appreciate your awesomeness, those people might call you names like Nerd or Geek. Feel sorry for them because they don’t know that you are really the cool one with the best superpowers of all.
So if someone at school calls you a nerd or a geek, here are some examples of how to respond:
- I’m a nerd, you’re a turd. Which is better?
- Yeah, and?
- Have you only just noticed?
- Actually I’m a geek but thank you for the compliment.
- You’ll be working for me one day so please remember that I like my burger well done.
- Thank you! For a second I thought I was a bit like you!
- I’d rather be a nerd than a jerk any day
- At least the brain store was open when I went there
- Phew! Thank god! At least I won’t end up on the Jeremy Kyle show when I’m older, unlike you.
- Great, so I’m just like Bill Gates, Steve Jobs and Doctor Who combined.
- Yes I know. State the obvious, why don’t you?
- Wow! A retro insult! Are you having a 1970’s theme day or something?
- I’m going to tell my nerdy mother you said that, and she’s going to bop you on the head with her BEST SELLING BOOK
Or best of all, just ignore it and walk away. Don’t give headspace to bullies, they don’t deserve it.

Hiya, i got called a nerd today at lunch by this girl that thinks shes so cool but shes not. And i wanted to say something rude back but then i thought it will bring it to an argument. So my best friend was there and shes really nice and she was like “comon lets go i dont want you to hear this rubbish” I didnt cry i just felt upset. I felt much better getting out of that classroom.
Its just now that she called me a nerd for no reason she just literally thought she had the permission to call me a nerd .
And first of all im not a nerd i hate school i always get bad results like in maths in my sats i got a 3b and in english i got a 4c it like you does she thiink she is calling she a nerd shes an f*ing idiot also a spoilt brat.
I think next time she says that to me or says something else that hurts my feelings im gonna tell the teacher tell her how i feel , if i feel like it go and talk to the headteacher , and ill tell my parents.

its not something to worry about, so don’t stress, sometimes its actually a compliment, since you are doing good in school. Thats all thats important.
Don’t be worried if they call you a nerd keep your head high and remember that their jealous they’re not as smart as you are, or just say something back personally it’s feels good to say something back and they don’t have something to back it up

If someone calls you a nerd just say thanks and act like you took it as a compliment and they won`t try to do it again and your feeling won`t get hurt just walk away because your smart enough to ignore it and not get mad or show that your angry,Use your smarts to stand up to people when they bully you or friends when they are joking around don`t just let them bully you and make you feel that being a nerd or a geek is a bad thing cause its not a bad thing
